Bemodern Fires New Surrounds
Bemodern Fires have just released their latest models of surrounds which include updated versions of existing products as well as completely new products too.
These surrounds are compatible with most gas and electric fires and come in a selection of designs with many offering a selection of finishes to select from. The surrounds come with matching hearths and back panel in the material and finish of the surround with the exception of the Lucien surround that has the option for a white micro-marble surround with black granite hearth and back options, (can be seen above).
Other surrounds that have been added or upgraded are the Carmela, Roberto, Beatrice and Paloma. These surrounds can all be found on our site with more detailed product information, dimensions and prices.

New Vermont Stoves by Apex
Apex are releasing additions to the Vermont stoves range which will include the Vermont 3, 5, and 7. The numbers correlate directly to the maximum output figure of the stove so the Vermont 3 has a maximum heat output of 3kW and so on.
These Vermont stoves are multi-fuel stoves and have good efficiency ratings with the 3 model boasting 81%. Multi-fuel stoves often have their output and efficiency measured when wood burning, but they are also capable of using such fuels as coal and anthracite etc.
The Vermont 5 and 7 stoves have been Defra approved which means they are suitable for use within a smoke controlled area (when burning wood).
Primary and secondary controls are easily located and usable and the Vermont 3,5 and 7 come with ash pans and complimentary safety gloves.

Valor Homeflame Dream HE Slimline
The Valor Homeflame Dream has been a great success from the moment it was launched, and now, just released, hot of the press is the Slimline version of the Homeflame Dream.Slimline with 3.1kW heat output and an amazing 79mm inset depth being required will mean a top quality fire will now be accessible to even more homes within the UK.
Valor have released the slimline version of the Homeflame Dream relinquishing nothing more than the bulky inset depth of the predecessor. Thus it includes the high 89% efficiency and the option of black, silver or gold (as shown) finishes. The Valor Homeflame Dream HE Slimline is a convector inset gas fire is glass fronted, has the high level slide control, the realistic coal fuel bed effect and uniquely reflective side panels that both enlarge and enhance the projection of the flame.

High Efficiency Gas Fires
If you are thinking of changing your gas fire it is worth considering the growing range of high efficiency gas fires on the market.
Most open fronted gas fires can be as little as 30% efficient which means that most of the heat generated goes straight out the chimney and not heating your room. This obviously means that 70% of the gas bill for that fire is wasted. Not got for your pocket and not good for the environment.
High efficiency gas fires are typically 80% efficient or aboue. Some are even over 90% efficient!

Admittedly, high efficency gas fires are usually more expensive to purchase at the onset. But you will always recoup your investment with lower gas bills. And lets be honest gas prices are not likely to drop to be considered a cheap means to heat your home.
